Boutonniere:

This is what the gentlemen wears, it is worn on the left
side of the lapel on the jacket. When pinning on the boutonniere
if you place the pin closes to the top of stem, just under the head
of the flower it will stay nicely in place. If the pin is not in the
right place the flower will flop around. Your florist will always
be happy to show you where and how to pin it.
It should be simple with no more than one or two flowers.
Flowers that are normally used are roses, calla lilies , orchids.
The boutonnieres, does not have ribbon on it, but can be
decorated with a few pearls or gems to match his date.
You would also want the tie to match as well.
Here are just a few samples of what the young man are wearing
this graduation.

How to take care of cut flowers

The FTD® Timeless Traditions™ BouquetNothing says I love you better than flowers. The colours, the smell , just the sheer beauty of flowers,  make you smile and brightens up your day. I love flowers, but they  can be pricey . Here are some tips to make your money and your flowers go a long way.  So when you get a flowers for this Mother's Day, or for your anniversary/Birthday  or flowers from your own garden,  here are some tips to add life to them.

- Fill a vase with room temperature water. Follow the instructions on the package of floral life and then give all flowers a fresh cut, before placing them in  water.

-Keep your flowers in a cool place, adding  fresh water to them daily to  keep them looking good longer.
- Water should be changed every few days depending how warm it is. Warmer weather will need frequent  change of water.

-  Weed out the  flowers which are  wilted and no longer doing good, to keep the rest of your arrangement looking fresh and giving it  a new look.

 For Flower Arrangements :
- Check water level when you get your arrangement, add water as needed.
- Display in a cool location away from heat or direct cold.Do not put in direct sun as it can cause them to burn, or wilt .
-  Do not put your arrangement on a television . Remember to check water daily as some flowers drink more water than others.
Again  there are some flowers are not as long lasting as others . We will talk about flowers that last longer next time.
